Rommel Feria

Rommel Feria is known as a famous professor for java. Feria is an Asst. Professor of Computer Science in University of the Philippines, Diliman. As a faculty member in University of Philippines, Rommel handles the java technology, Ethics and Professional Issues in Computing, Biomedical Informatics, Mobile Application development and Internet Technologies. Rommel also organized the first Philippine eyeball in January 1995. Rommel is avery good IT consultant since last 13 years. Rommel worked for many private and government agencies.

 

Rommel is well known java champion due to marvelous contribution for java. He is a co-founder of Philippine Linux Users’ group as well as a Apple distinguished educator. As a writer Rommel is working with Manila Bulletin an Information Technology and Services industry from may 2005. From February 2005 he is a project leader of Java Education & Development Initiative.

Rommel is a member of UP Java Research & Development Center Business Operations Committee. JEDI (Java Education Development Initiative) project team led by Professors Rommel Feria and JP Petines were made a milestone for the University of the Philippines Ayala TBI, when they presented it at the Sun JavaOne conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, USA. The project aim of JEDI is to provide a high quality and free of cost course material for university and college of Philippines. It is only for enhancing the collaborative environment using java.net.
